"A continuation of the previous 5 year trend will mean that 2.5 inch drives would be gone in about 4 years. Somewhere around half of all hard disks sold today are 2.5 inch drives going into laptops and in 5 years time the figure will be 66%. The loss of two thirds of market share in about a 12 month period will be devastating for any hard disk manufacturer that is not also a major manufacturer of flash memory products."

I appreciate Google's many free tools and have been using Gmail for years. But while Google does effectively identify those explicit disgusting low-life messages, it leaves the messages in the Spam folder. That folder has to be manually purged from time to time. I feel safe in doing so as I observed over a period of months that the automated Spam filtering doesn't seem to grab my "real" emails. Read extended for steps to implement.

My friend Walter has maliciously suggested I should use the Rowbike for our May 2008 double century bike ride up in Vermont. The Rowbike is the brainchild of Rollerblade inventor Scott Olsen.

According to Fitness Magazine the Rowbike is the best arm workout outside the gym. “Sitting still, it may look pretty normal, but wait until you see this thing in action…

From CIO.com

What advice would you give to someone interviewing with a CIO?

Learn as much as you can about the individual before you arrive. Begin by "Googling" the CIO, then check LinkedIn and other networking sites. Find out where the person went to school, where they worked and if there any levels on which you can connect. Are there any talks the individual has given that would shed light on their views? Is this someone you want to work for? You have to be honest with yourself—you can't be a chameleon simply to get the job. You can help yourself by knowing as much as possible before going in to meet that individual...
